Ryan Bennett has over 15 years of industry experience. Ryan specialises in delay, disruption, and quantum matters, gaining considerable experience drafting and administrating NEC and JCT contracts. Ryan has experience as a delay and disruption expert witness on adjudications in the UK and provided independent advice to clients, contractors, and subcontractors. Ryan has also experience of being assigned as the lead assistant to the delay and disruption expert in a number of international arbitrations.
Ryan’s experience includes drafting prolongation and disruption claims, drawing on his Quantity Surveying experience to establish entitlement, producing the delay/disruption analysis, and assessing the quantum. He has led a team on large value disputes, performing perspective and retrospective delay analysis, and being flexible in approach depending on the circumstances.
Ryan is passionate about performing disruption analysis and has performed the measured mile, earned value, systems dynamic modelling, and cost-based
methods. He is highly proficient in programming and data analysis software such as P6, Project, Excel, Access, and Power BI, which is used to digest large and
complex data sets quickly and effectively, provides a cutting-edge in time-critical projects.
Ryan has experience in various industries which include oil and gas facilities, power and process plants, dam modifications, roads and rail, residential developments, hospitals, data centres, defence infrastructure, and rolling stock manufacturing.
- Appointed as the delay expert in an adjudication concerning delays to a drylining subcontract on a hotel, UK.
- Appointed as the delay expert in an adjudication concerning delays to a facades subcontract for residential construction, UK.
- Led a large commission working for a JV partner. Supervised a team in advising the client on its dispute management strategy and prepared a delay analysis and advised the client for an energy-from-waste plant, UK.
- Assisted the delay and disruption expert on an extensive international arbitration, responsible for performing the disruption analysis for an oil refinery in Oman.
- Appointed to produce a delay, disruption and loss and expense claim the contractor on a university refurbishment, UK.
- Appointed as lead assistant to the delay and disruption expert on an extensive international arbitration. Responsible for producing a measured mile disruption analysis for railway a construction in Ethiopia.
- Assisted legal team in producing a delay and disruption claim for an adjudication, providing an opinion on the validity of the extent and causes of delay on a residential construction project.
