
Neale Munro has almost thirty years industry experience and has been a chartered quantity surveyor for twenty years. Neale has an in depth understanding of contractor claims (preparation and defence) from having held directorships and senior commercial roles for regional and national main contractors for the first 25 years of his career.
Now specialising in dispute resolution and avoidance work, Neale provides advice and guidance on contractual issues and quantum matters on construction and infrastructure projects. He also acts as a quantum expert and has advised on quantum matters on projects with values up to £26 billion.
Neale has experience in negotiation, mediation, adjudication and arbitration and has a comprehensive knowledge of all principal forms of contract. His breadth of experience covers the built environment sector. Neale holds Fellowship status with the RICS and the CIArb, has an MSc in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution, as well as a BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying. Neale is a member of the Society of Construction Law and the Adjudication Society and is an RICS Registered Expert Witness.

- Acting in an embedded role (Apr-2022 to Dec-2023) for the Employer as Commercial Subject Matter Expert on a multi-billion-pound infrastructure project advising on contractual issues and quantum matters [UK]
- Residential project, Cornwall – representing a main contractor in a Mediation and subsequent Arbitration with a Professional Indemnity Insurance provider.
- Assisting the appointed expert with assessing costs incurred by the employer following a re-build of 1 block and other associated costs.
- Project advisory services to the employer associated with the assessment of the main contractor’s interim valuations and final account.
- Project advisory services to a sub-contractor associated with change management including project delays.
- Acting as quantum expert in to opine on an electrical sub-contractor’s final account which included differences on the measured works, variations and loss and expense.
- Acting as quantum expert in a Conciliation to opinine on a main contractor’s loss and expense claim.
- Acting as quantum expert in Litigation to opine on the reasonableness of sums claimed in respect of defective works.
- Acting as quantum expert in Litigation to opine on the reasonableness of sums claimed in respect of incomplete and defective works.
