Alena Rymkiewicz has over 18 years of practical and academic experience in the engineering and construction industry, including 15 years of experience in delay analysis. She has developed delay analysis models and assisted in drafting expert reports for more than 30 large construction projects worldwide, including hydroelectric, nuclear and coal power plants, subways and railways, highways, bridges, canals and tunnels, ship building, sewage treatment, industrial complexes, hotels, shopping malls and housing projects located in Australia, Brazil, Bahrain, Chile, Denmark, Ethiopia, Finland, Guatemala, India, Israel, Malaysia, Panama, Peru, Romania, Russia, Turkey, UAE, Qatar, Tajikistan, and the UK.
- Analyzed impacts on the key project milestones from design changes, additional scope, third-parties delays and force majeure events for a $4 billion dam construction project in Central Asia. Reviewed and commented on the monthly schedules and a revised baseline. Prepared delay analysis models which captured delays across several years. Drafted expert delay analysis reports.
- Worked on site for several months collecting progress data and assisting in development of the delay analysis model and preparation of an expert report for a $4 billion railway project in the Middle East.
- Interviewed the general contractor’s personnel on site, collected and consolidated progress data, and assisted in developing delay analysis model for a $2 billion hydropower plant and dam construction project in East Africa.
- Analyzed delays due to concrete mix design delays, financial restraints, and site congestion in $5 billion canal project in Latin America. Assisted in preparing an expert delay analysis report.
- Developed As-Planned versus As-Built delay analysis model and analyzed critical path delays for a $250 million metro tunnel construction project in Europe.
- Analyzed contractor’s claims, collected and consolidated progress data, prepared TIA and period analysis for a $12 billion hydropower plant project in Australia. Assisted in preparation of an expert report.
- Analyzed critical delays due to adverse geological conditions for $1 billion hydro power plant construction project in Southeast Asia. Assisted in preparation of an expert report.
- Prepared period analysis and assessed delays in utilities relocation, land expropriation, demining and due to adverse weather conditions for a $3.5 billion road construction project in Europe. Assisted in preparation of an expert report and a presentation for the tribunal.
