Christian Karwoth has more than 16 years of experience in the civil engineering and heavy construction industry. He has provided case support involving critical path analyses, contractor termination, subcontractor disputes, loss of productivity, differing site conditions, change order disputes, and liquidated damages for owners, contractors, and subcontractors on disputes ranging from US$40 million to US$2.1 billion and has testified as an expert and fact witness.
Christian also has experience being closely involved with the daily operations of construction sites, including site management, scheduling, progress reporting, and contract administration. His prior experience includes 11 years of working with one of the world’s largest European Contractors on projects across Latin America. During this time, he held positions as Site Engineer, Senior Site Engineer, and Deputy Construction Manager.
- Provided Expert testimony on cost overruns and delay damages in an ICSID Arbitration for a US$ 115 million expansion of a 428km long highway project including the construction of new lanes, bridge, tunnel, and several intersections, between a Concessionaire and a State in South America.
- Provided Expert testimony on delay in an ICSID Arbitration for a US$ 220 million expansion of a 270km long highway project between a Concessionaire and a State in South America.
- Co-signed Expert Report on delay damages in an ICSID Arbitration for the US$ 4.5 billion construction of a tunneling project for a metro line including 35 passenger terminals between a Concessionaire and a State in South America.
- Provided loss of productivity analysis in an AAA Arbitration between a Contractor and Subcontractor for an US$ 18.8 million subcontract for electrical services on a MS$ 234 million Soda Ash Plant Project in Wyoming.
- Provided quantum analysis on delay damages and cost overruns in an ICC Arbitration for the US$ 7.5 billion construction of an oil refinery in South America between the Owner and its Project Management Consultant.
- Provided quantum analysis including cost overruns, delay damages, loss of productivity, acceleration cost, and change order work in an ICC Arbitration for the US$ 3.5 billion expansion of a ship canal in Central America between the Contractor and Owner.
- Provided quantum analysis on loss of profits, and cost overruns in an ICSID Arbitration for a US$ 220 million expansion of a 270km ling highway project between a Concessionaire and a State in South America.
- Provided quantum analysis for lost revenues and delay damages on two desalination plants in Europe pursuant to the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce.
- Provided quantum analysis for cost overruns, covid impacts, and delay damages in a DRB pursuant to the rules of the ICC for the US$ 5.4 billion construction of an oil refinery in the Middle East.
- Provided quantum and performance analysis on equipment availability, lost revenues, insurance payments, and liquidated damages for delays in an ICC Arbitration for the US$ 943 million construction of three solar power plants [∑ 1,088 MW] between the Owner and Contractor in Central America.
