Anthony Buirski is an Associate Director with over fifteen years experience in the engineering and construction industry, where he has independently led the commercial delivery of large-scale construction projects. His portfolio includes sewage treatment plants, airports, hospitals, data centres, shopping centres, offices and education facilities.
He specialises in the commercial management of infrastructure and construction projects across diverse sectors, with a proven track record in cost control, value management, procurement, variation analysis and agreement, as well as the management and review of extensions of time and claims for loss and expense. Anthony has a thorough understanding of construction contract administration.
After several years as a contractor’s quantity surveyor, Anthony now focuses on quantum assessments of claims and variations, contributing to numerous expert reports used in litigation and adjudication.His skill set includes working independently to meet deadlines, and he is experienced with FIDIC, JCT, NEC, and iChemE contracts in various forms, including target cost, lump sum, and re-measurable. - Successfully acted as party representative in an adjudication for a cladding subcontractor that was being contra-charged for unproven costs on a residential project.
- Supported the lead quantum expert to prepare a report for a student housing provider concerning a £18M dispute, contributing to the assessment of reasonable costs for external envelope repairs.
- Assisted the lead quantum expert to provide expert opinion on the reasonable cost of remedial works to support a developer in a Mediation.
- Assisted the lead quantum expert on a report for a subcontractor in a litigation matter to quantify profit share entitlement in a variety of scenarios based upon a verbal contract. Provided analysis on the division of costs and the costs likely to be incurred by all parties.
