Delta Consulting Group (DCG) is seeking a highly motivated and talented Human Resources Specialist for its Woodbridge, VA corporate headquarters.

DCG is actively seeking a well-organized and detail-oriented Human Resources Specialist to assist the Chief Human Resources Officer with the day-to-day responsibilities of the department — supporting the entire HR function including compliance, learning and development, onboarding and off-boarding, and performance management. Additionally, the Human Resources Specialist may be asked to help with the development and implementation of employee engagement programs designed to improve employee morale and bring a remote workforce closer together. The Human Resources Specialist will be expected to perform various administrative duties as well as specific projects and programs as assigned. Excellent communication and organization skills are a critical component of this position as well as an ability to work effectively and independently and be able to anticipate and resolve issues efficiently. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a professional services company (e.g., accounting, architecture, engineering, law, etc.). He/she should present an accessible and approachable tone as well as have excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will also have a healthy initiative and the ability to anticipate needs.

Responsibilities

  • Support recruitment function by posting job requisitions, scheduling interviews, maintaining an applicant tracking system, sending pre-employment documents, and preparing candidate pipeline reports for management
  • Conduct reference checks and employee eligibility verifications
  • Implements new hire orientation, employee recognition programs, and offboarding
  • Handle inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, escalating complex and/or sensitive matters to the Chief Human Resources Officer
  • Maintain the accuracy and confidentiality of human resource files, records, and documentation ensuring all files are complete and in compliance with company policies and applicable Federal and State laws and regulations
  • Assist with the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the company’s HRIS system
  • Assist with preparing the documents/reports needed for employee quarterly feedback and annual reviews
  • Coordinate benefit plan open enrollments, effectively communicate plan changes, and conduct plan training for employee
  • Assist with benefit plan pricing and renewals/implementing benefit plan programs
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Assist with planning of employee-focused events such as companywide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and other company celebrations
  • Collaborate with other members of the administrative team providing cross-departmental support
  • Produce and publish quarterly employee newsletters
  • Assist the Chief Human Resources Officer with other duties and special projects as assigned

  • Qualified candidates must be eligible to work for any employer in the United States

Education/Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required
  • 4 to 5 years experience in Human Resources
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired
