Delta has project management experience in the construction of very large and significant hospital complexes.  The VA Regional Medical Center, a $200 million, 880 bed Veterans Administration facility located in Minneapolis, MN was the largest VA medical facility at the time and incorporated cutting edge technology and required cutting edge project management skills.
This ten story cast-in-place concrete structure has 1.5 million square feet of usable space and the design was such that three separate atriums provided natural light for the patients and staff.  The size of the facility necessitated a dedicated heating and cooling plant.  Robotics were incorporated into the construction to accommodate the delivery of food and linens to appropriate stations and pneumatic tubes were constructed to allow vacuum movement of garbage to trash collection points and to deliver medications to dispensing stations.
The project management effort included the development and implementation of a CPM schedule with over 10,000 activities that guided the project to an on time delivery.  This was achieved in spite of having to terminate and replace several key subcontractors and negotiate and administer numerous changes to the facility during construction.  Delta can bring its extensive hospital facility experience to bear in assisting our clients to achieve the successful completion of these very challenging projects.
